PLANNER II / INSPECTOR TRAINEE
Following graduation from Mabank High School in Mabank, Texas, Zach attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in 1996.
Zach then began a ten year career in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a supply and financial officer at Edwards Air Force Base in California and a supply officer and assistant operations officer in South Carolina.
In 2006, Zach chose Owensboro to be his home and began his employment with the Owensboro Metropolitan Planning Commission in January of 2007.
Initially, Zach trained in the field with the building inspectors preparing for the various building inspector test modules. To date, Zach has achieved the Commonwealth of Kentucky requirements to be certified as:
- One and Two Family Building Inspector
Zach has recently been assigned additional duties in zoning enforcement as well as review of conditional use permit and variance applications for the Owensboro Metropolitan Board of Adjustment.
