    • Zigzag ramp drops down to -30’
    • Ramp self-supported over water
    • Or built into earthen slope

Access to the Water
8
Access to the Water
  • Today, the Boat Ramp creates a shoreline where waves lap against a visible landing
    • Pays tribute to Owensboro’s wharf history – the place where cargo and passengers came and went during the founding period of Yellow Banks
    • Allows immediate access to the water

  • Proposed Riverfront Plan will remove the shoreline landing
    • Increases useable space above the 50-year flood elevation
    • Significantly reduces frequency of removing high-water river debris
    • Access will be provided to the water surface via a ramp system to a floating dock for boat passenger transfers
